Kagiso "KG-EXPRESS" Kgosana
KG-Express, born Thabang Kagiso Kgosana is an
independent artist from Orlando west in Soweto. Known initially from his
appearances on various tracks with local
artist, he since has solidified his spot amongst best of his class. Musically,
his influences range from HHP, Khuli Chana, ProKid, Amu,Tuks and many more to
name a few, whose main focus at the time was social commentary, poetry at the
time trained Express's third eye on important social issues surrounding him.
Internationally,
KG-Express was introduced to high quality production by producers like Dj
Premier, Dr Dre, Timberland and Pharrell Williams.
His first
mix-tape called Once Upon a time was released in 2010 with only 8 tracks on his
initial drop, although he had recorded over 22 song while busy with the
mix-tape, which some were never released due to the growth he sparked on his
music.
The
mix-tape tracks were to him a digital success, boasting over 600 downloads in
its first week on Kasimp3 and Sound Cloud,
it was the tape that earned him opportunities to perform all around Cape Town,
from Cappellos on long street, Stones both
in Kuils River and Parow with the popular DJ Codax. Express also performed at the SAMRO board of members party as
well as at one of the carnivals held in Plum Stead all in the same year of 2015.
His lyrical
content and style also sparked interests, allowing him to feature on Dj Codax’s
mixtape released around 2010 amongst th
e elite lyricist
known in the mother city of Cape Town, which solidified his stand amongst the
best of the best.
2011
brought in more challenges for Express as he worked on numerous singles with
the likes of Hipe (From CPT), Cream (From CPT) and Ernie B. St. Claire former
Afro-Z member. With more exposure and performances.

Under his
own record label which was formed in 2015 he started to work on a revamped
version of his first Mix-tape Called Once upon a time. The mix-Tape (Once
upon a time) was released on July 13th 2010 with a wide
variety of music and content. With features from O.B.K. MC Cole and DJ Codax,
his second work of art called Syrup & Pancakes was all
produced by him under his alias name Pooch which is a nickname he
possessed since the age of 2yrs old, the tape has both local and international
influence as well as appeal.
All of his
tracks have been released on all digital media platform, internet radio and
most community radio. Google play, Spotify and ITunes are examples of where the
singles can be found. Riddin has been his well received single thus far
sparking the ears of commuters all and around Cape Town city and locations.
In December
of 2018 KG and his crew embarked on a corner to corner tour together with the
RedBull BBoy crew showcasing their talents and uplifting the youth advising to
use their talent to advance in life. It was so much of a success that there
were talks of having one again in the near future, which talks are still in the
pipeline.
He still
continues to write and produce music not only for himself but for other artists
whom also want to make it in the music scene. He Produced, wrote, recorded,
mixed and master an EP (Hearts lost in the jungle) for a
group called Jungle boys. One of its first single (wine it up) which
featured an amazing artist from the UK by the name BxbyBoi, caught fans ears as it got most of its plays
in its first week of release. It was with such success that Jungle
boys trusted KG-Express & Keagile Ent for
most of their body of work.

Entertainment is not just a music label but they are also trying to venture out
to other business avenues like clothing line and daily used product in the
house hold.
